I am so excited to meet you on August 13th between 3:00pm and 5:00pm for our annual Meet and Greet! Come and see your classroom, meet your teacher and drop off your supplies during this time! Please don't forget to put your name on your supplies. Also, you may bring your Blue Ribbon Reader packet if you completed one this summer.
Our first day of school is on Thursday, August 15th! Don't forget to wear your bus tag and bring your take home folder with any completed paperwork. You will receive your bus tag, take home folder, and paperwork at Meet and Greet.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
** Please visit our blog weekly or as often as you can. I will post at least weekly to give curriculum updates and reminders. This is where I will have information about all components of our first grade curriculum. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to call me or email me. My phone extension number is 2106. You will be able to leave a message and I will return your call. My email is karmbrecht@aurora-schools.org.
** Lunch - Lunch menus are posted on the Aurora web page. Please remind your child each day if he/she is buying a whole lunch or just milk. This will help the lunch line process to go more smoothly. We eat lunch at 12:00, then we have recess right after lunch. You can make deposits on your child's lunch account. If you send lunch money to school with your child, please put it in an envelope with your child's name and my name on it. Thank you!!!
** Snack - Since we have a little later lunch time, we will have snack time every morning. Your child may bring in a non-messy, nut free snack each day. Please keep the snack separate from the lunch box so that there is no confusion with what to eat for snack.
** Homework Log - there will be a monthly homework log starting soon.
** Conference Schedule - I will soon be setting up a conference schedule on Sign Up Genius. You will be able to sign up for a Fall conference time.
** Guest Reader Schedule - I will soon be setting up a guest reader schedule on Sign Up Genius. Feel free to sign up for a time to come in and read a story to our class. If the times listed on Sign Up Genius do not work for you, please contact me. I am very flexible. 😊
** Take Home Folder - Your child's take home folder will be available to take when you come to Meet and Greet. This way, your child will have it on the first day of school to bring back any forms that will need to be completed. Your child will bring this folder home every day and bring it back to school each day. Please check it each evening. If your child ever has a note or anything to turn in to me, please remind him/her in the morning. Thank you!!!
** Celebrating Birthdays - Our school policy suggests to send in a non food treat for your child to share, such as a pencil, special eraser, bookmark, etc. If you send in any kind of edible treat, please have it in individual bags for the kids to take home with them.
** Star of the Week - Your child will have an opportunity to participate in Star of the Week. Information about this will come home when it is your child's turn to be star of the week.
